Kathleen Houlihan joined Domican University in July 2008 as director of the Center for Global Peace Through Commerce in the Brendan School of Business. She was Assistant Managing Director of the Illinois Office of Trade and Investment/DCEO from 2006 to 2008. Previously, she served as director of Chicago Sister Cities International. In 2005, Ms. Houlihan managed the Chicago portion of the Iraq out-of-country election on behalf of the International Organization for Migration. She formerly served as executive director of the U.S. Committee for the United Nations Development Programme. In 2003, she was named a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum. Ms. Houlihan has observed numerous elections for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. She is fluent in Italian and received her undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame and her master’s degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
