| Country Commercial Guides (CCGs) & Market Research |
Country Commercial Guides (CCGs) are prepared annually by U.S. embassies with the assistance of several U.S. government agencies. These reports present a comprehensive look at countries' commercial environments, using economic, political and market analysis. The CCGs were established by recommendation of the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee (TPCC), a multi-agency task force, to consolidate various reporting documents prepared for the U.S. business community. | National Trade Data Bank (NTDB) |
The best market research tool available at no cost or limited cost is the National Trade Data Bank (NTDB). Free access to NTDB is available at all federal deposit public libraries. You may also order it in CD-ROM or Internet formats. No matter how technical or obscure, what you need to know will likely be found in the NTDB. Updated monthly, the NTDB contains more than 160,000 documents of current information on topics such as: trade leads; available resources; import and export opportunities by industry, country, and product; foreign companies or importers looking for specific products; how-to market guides; demographic, political, and socio-economic conditions in countries throughout the world; and much more. This interactive site provides international trade statistics and U.S. tariff data free of charge. You simply select a category at the home page, then fine-tune your search, and you'll get a customized report that you can read and download. You can also create and save customized country and product lists for future re-use. International trade data are available for years from 1989 to the present on a monthly, quarterly, annual, or year-to- date basis, and you can retrieve them in a number of classification systems, including the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), or the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Finally, you can access current U.S. tariff information at this site. |
